ABOUT FREDDIE’S FLOWERS
You may be asking how they have grown into one of the largest UK online florists. I grew up in a family that ran a flower store and I saw with my own eyes how people’s mood brightened up when they received flowers. I had an epiphany: why not bring that enchantment right to their door step? I went back home, hired a milk float for the delivery, put up a tent for packaging the boxes and started looking for the first customers.
In the beginning, there was a lot of frantic activity: being able to meet up with mum at the flower market early in the morning, packing of boxes at home, and making deliveries, and then going out in the evening to spread the news. I really enjoyed it and it was worth it. In nine years, they have grown a team and switched to environmentally friendly wheels, but the goal of making as many people as happy as possible with flowers remains unchanged. That is why I prefer to say that living flowerfully is the best thing that one can do.
The Founder’s Vision
Born and raised Frederick Garland was from a family that had a link to the flower business. He grew to love flowers so much as his mother was a florist and his father worked in a flower business as a florist. Freddie’s dream was to start a business that provided fresh flowers and at the same time added joy and elegance in people’s lives. He wanted flowers to be a part of people’s everyday life, not something that people could afford only once in a while. The actualization of this idea led to the creation of Freddie’s Flowers, a venture that harmonizes antique floral work with modern commercial strategies.
